How can you tell if yarn is good quality

  • by

The count indicates the yarn’s fineness. The higher the count, the finer and lighter the yarn. For example, a 140s fabric feels finer than a 120s fabric.

Tensile strength is one of the yarn’s most important quality characteristics. It determines how well the yarn can be converted into fabric and the final product’s tensile properties.

Breaking strength is an important indicator of fiber quality. Yarn with high breaking strength is not easy to break during processing.
